I am a BC member. Never had to use the insurance thankfully, but the Halfords and Wiggle discounts are useful!

As above, I'm a BC member for the insurance only

I'm a member of BC, never used any discounts but some of the member only articles are interesting and for a couple of pound a month the insurance puts my mind at ease.

After my 'off' last Saturday I have gotten to thinking about insurance particularly the 3rd Party kind.

Found this:

Looks good - is this recommended by anyone or any negatives? Ta.

Who bothers/doesn't bother with this type of insurance?

Yes I am a member, no choice in some respects, as if I want to race certain events I need a license, which means having Silver of Gold membership in order to buy a race license, which I have done. However, other than that I have not really bothered with reading the website.

Ok I've bitten - why?

Exacly my point, Why? I don't like to gamble I guess. I pay all sorts of insurance all year long and the only few I neede to claim something, it was either not covered under some exceptions or the excess was greater than the damage. It is ironic how buying so much "peace of mind" can get you upset when you draw a line and see how much money you spent without a single benefit. I understand the system however and I comply, even though I don't agree with it.

Difficult to think of an alternative way of mitigating risk though.
