So I 3D printed these parts in TPU 95A (a slightly flexible filament). Gluing TPU is hard, so the two parts have a dovetail interface to connect them together (though I do also use some contact adhesive to reduce the chance of them coming apart)...
Unobtrusive on the bike, easy to pop the phone in and out, and as it's somewhat shielded from the sun by your body when riding it turns out to be pretty easy to read...
