I have a specialized sirrus elite hybrid bike. I use 28c tyres.
I want to take it on canal path and some paths which has more sands than gravel. Therefore I am thinking of using 35c tyres.
The rim says double wall, 622 * 18, 6061-TB, 14

Will my rim take 35c tyre? It does have enough space on the fork.

Do I really need 35c tyres?

Thanks for your advice.

Only you know the type of surfaces you want to cycle on. From your description, 35mm wide tyres with a modicum of grip (ie tread) sounds a sensible choice and will cope with sandy surfaces better. 622-35 tyres will fit on a 622-18 rim.

Thanks. Yes I read the page but was still not clear on two points.
In my rim 622*18, does 18 refer to the width of the rim?
There was no 18 on the table but 17 and 19.
This sounds a very stupid question but better ask than assume.
