I've got a Cateye Strada Wireless and the 2nd bike kit for it is £26.99. Given the price, I can't decide if I should get that or just get a different computer for the new bike*.

What thinks you?

On wiggle you're only paying an extra £13ish for a new separate unit if you update your preferences and get a £5 voucher.

If you've got different wheels and tyre sizes on each bike then your data won't be accurate anyway.

No brainer.

you can get it for about £35 online so i'd probably just pay the bit extra and get a new one - you'll then be able to choose a colour that ideally matches your new bike

Some computers have a separate fields for bike 1 and 2 wheel sizes and maintain separate odometers.

True, but not the Cateye Strada Wireless unfortunately which is the one that the Op already has.

I was in the same boat when I got my new bike and am glad I bought the second unit. Knowing me, I'd constantly forget to change it over and I'd be worried that the fixing would wear with constant removal. The Cateye units can be liable to rattle as it is. Also, it's not the easiest unit to clip on and off.

Good computer though.

I think Cateye Strada Wireless has memory for two tyre sizes therefore you can change between bikes. However, I am not sure if it registers distances specific to each bike.

New one for me every time... Purely because I want to know the total milage of each bike, just because I'm a geek like that.

For a while I had the same model of computer on my race and training bikes. In the end one of them packed up and I just switched between the two no problem (the wheels/tyres were the same size - I measured - so I didn't need to worry about the 2nd bike feature). It worked well for me but I reckon you might as well get a second computer so that a) you don't have to swap around and b) if one packs up, you can swap around.
