27-inch tyres + puncture tape: recommendations for commuting?

Having had it firmly established that Schwalbe Marathon Plus is the thing if you want to commute 30 miles a day with no punctures, I then went and discovered that there are practically no tyres made in 27x 1 1/4 ("28-630") size any more. And M+ have never been made in this size.

Any recommendations in this size? It's the one that fits on 1980s raleighs

Schwalbe marathons and some sort of anti-puncture tape?

If you keep them pumped up nice and hard, you shouldn't have too many problems anyway.

Tried some schwalbe things but they (on the last 4 occasions) seemed to split in the tirewall rather easily, Now trialing Panaracer 27" tyres, twice the price as the schwalbes but so far soo good - can be pumped to a higher pressure too and lighter - wouldn't use schwalbe 27" tyres again - too many long walks home far too unreliable
