I will be doing some touring this summer and feel that my 23mm tyres will be a little harsh for long days in the saddle, and the 28mm I have (M+) on the winter bike will be too energy sapping. Have you any recommendations for 25mm tyres?

Panaracer Pasela Tourguards. I use them on all my road/audax bikes.

28mm are fast rolling tyres and the 25mm ones, I imagine, are faster still

A vote here for Continental GP4000s with Black Chilli. I have had a good run out my GP4000s and they are now my tyre of choice.

Good Tyres, roll well, light and grip well. I've got the 23mm tyres and only had one pture in 2856miles and that was on the Etape Caledonia when 1000 tacks were placed on the road. My brother is slightly heavier than me though and his 25mm were a bit p'ture prone although he was irked to remove them because of the aforementioned benefits (roll well, light and grip well).
