With a difference of 0.4 mm i would imagine if you tweaked your quill stem open slightly it would be fine, could'nt be certain but with such a small difference i could'nt imagine it would be much of a prob.I would wait and see what others advise first though before taking my advice ^_^

Cheers Pete. The page listing all their road stems says 25.8 but the actual product page says 26. Confusing.

That stem looks like a good bet at the price though so I'll do as you say.

I disagree. 26 mm is one of those continental imported fashions. 1 inch (aka 25.4) is THE standard.
Me? start an argument ? ^_^

That's what Sheldon Brown says Pete, so you're in good company!

25.4mm Standard I.S.O. size, used on the vast majority of newer bicycles with upright handlebars.
This size was formerly common for steel drop bars

25.8mm Unofficial in-between size used by some Italian handlebar makers for handlebars designed to be usable in either ISO (25.4) or Italian (26.0) size stems.
SB suggests I'd be okay anyway but I'll do as Pete suggests at those prices.

Thanks all
