hi all
went to replace my punctured inner tube today i had llready been out and got the inner tube and i got a 700x25c as that was what my trye size is
when i finally got the tyre off dam site harder then my mountain bike i might add
the inner tube said it was a 700x23c is this a problem
also i had to take the new inner tube back as i tried to fit it but the valve wouldent come through the hole enouth so i compared valve lenths and found the new one was a lot shorter
also when i got the bike it came with 3 new tryes two are the same make and say 700x25c and one says 700x23c would i be able to use it

Hi Lee

Innertubes normally come within a range, eg. 700x18-25 or 700x20-28. Are you sure the tube doesnt mention 2 widths on it somewhere? In any case, I would be very surprised if they didn't fit ok. Try it...

If its ranged like Sitting Duck says it'll be fine. Even if it isnt it won't really cause a problem either; my bike used to have 28mm tyres but I p'tured one on a club ride, the spare was knackered so I borrowed a 23mm and had no problems, I think I meant to change it but I left it in for a while no probs.

Edit Oh the valve thing you've might have deep section aero rims and a normal valve would be to short.

wrt the three tyres You'll most likely have 17mm rims so you can use any of your tyres.

Is it possible you can only fit one type of valve on that wheel?
I had that on 2 wheels recently, the valve hole was only suitable for presta tubes, so i drilled the hole bigger and now i can fit presta or schrader valve tubes.

hi they are both presta valves its just the lenth that was different i am assuming that as the wheels are angled the standard lenth vales wont fit
