Hi I hope someone can help.

I have a set of the above that have a little play at the rim.

I have had a bit of a play and think this is a pre load issue. I can set the pre-load by loosening the collar on the non-drive side of the hub. What is the proper way to set this? I can't work out an adjustment process other than just by hand!

I have taken the slack off but this seems a very hit and miss process.

What is the proper process for setting this.

Many thanks in advance.

Fulcrum racing 5 wheels use sealed cartridge bearings, the wheel uses two bearings and the freehub has it's own pressed into the hub body. There is no adjustment to the bearings, but worn bearings might have some play.

Absolutely right.
To elaborate, the bearings sit in the hub body, there is a tube between the bearings and the outer locking nuts/tubes simply tighten against the inner race, no adjustment neccessary.
Its quite an easy DIY job if you're careful with the new bearings, only strike the outer race as you drive them in (with a suitable size socket or similar)..or you risk jarring the bearing, then you'll get a tight spot or knock as it rotates.
Try to get low friction sealed bearings, they run much free'er right from the word go.
Also be aware the outer locknuts / spacers are different lengths each side...mix them up and you'll soon realise somethings wrong, like wot i did when i couldnt figure why my cassette was rubbing on the dropout :banghead:
