Chatting at work today about about the British team's success at the Beijing Olympics and one of my colleagues thinks he's right in saying that the host nation gets to include a new event at their home Olympiad.

A discussion about a suitable 'British' event to include in the 2012 Olympics ended up with us deciding to go for the egg & spoon race in 4 years time. Start training now.

Any other ideas?

I believe China's choice was BMX. Seems like a reasonable addition to me, although I'm sure that China's dominance in the BMX manufacturing business has nothing to do with it.

Anyway, for the UK I would suggest cheese rolling.
