2011 Brompton in satin black. The bike was completely recommissioned only two years ago and sympathetically updated to include dynamo lighting.
Wheel bearings and headset were all stripped, serviced and rebuilt with new bearings. (fortunately, the original FAG bottom bracket was found to be in excellent condition) Inner and outer cables, chain and sprocket have all been replaced, together with a myriad of other replacement parts. I gave it another service in January this year, so it is mechanically spot on.
The frame, forks and handlebar stem were deep cleaned, polished and carefully touched in where needed. Although it is in good original rust free condition and has always been dry stored, it does have some marks and patina you would expect from a used 14 year old Brompton, the front and rear mudguards have both been replaced so are in excellent condition with no cracks or damage, The seat sleeve and hinge pins are in excellent condition and do not require replacement. Wheels are fitted with an excellent pair of barely worn matching Schwalbe Marathon Racer tyres.
I have made a couple of improvements over the years, just to sympathetically update it and make it easier to live with. I fitted the essential Brompton Eazy wheels (these really help with stability when folded), and the later, improved integral brake levers with integral bell and 3 speed shifter (this transforms the bike), plus a lovely vintage Brooks saddle. The main upgrade was the fitting of genuine Brompton dynamo lighting with a Shimano dynamo hub, which works perfectly. A genuine Brompton luggage block and pump are also included.
Over the last two years although I have used it regularly, it has only done minimal leisure miles. I am only selling because I have now bought a brand new Brompton. In summary, a sensibly priced, fully sorted and updated Brompton, ready to ride away and enjoy for many years!
£695 plus £20 postage
If you decide to have it posted, it will be delivered safely in a genuine Brompton box, I am also happy for the buyer to collect from Oxford.
