Firstly thanks for the replies to my original post in Cyclechat Cafe. Shame nobody else on here is doing the ride.

I may be starting to get a bit paranoid about the ride but better safe than sorry.

Believe me this is not phishing.

In her reply Buggi recommends lots of cream. Question I have is, what cream?

I use Camapag raytech bibs with synthetic padding and have never suffered any real pain on our training rides, and so far never used any cream.

However I have at times been tender down below, which I think would have got a lot worse (painful) if I had done another long ride the day after.
So I guess I probably need two types one preventative and one for treatment if needed?

Any advice or recommendations greatly appreciated.

assos is the usual tip for quality cream

as ever, earlier and oftener than needed is the charm

Thanks everybody for the help.

Have consulted my globe I was hoping to avoid any peddling as Paris is clearly downhill from London.

Sudocream, lots of it - cheap and cheerful and does the job very well!

+1 for Sudocrem. Excellent stuff.
