Hello all

I bought myself a Cateye Comutter Cycling Computer for £29.99 reduced from £59.99  to replace my other one

But i have kept the old one on my bike for now as it as my miles on it and would like to know if these will interfere with each other as there are both Cateye ?

The Cycling Computer was bought from Bike Scene UK if anyone is intrested at that price

Cheers
Carl

The only sure way to find out is go for a ride. It all depends on the wireless system, they should be on different frequencies and hence there should be no interference. I don't know if you are in a club etc but I don't hear many complaint from riders in my clubs and we ride in a tightly spaced pack with lots of different computers, its basically the same thing.

Have you checked the instructions on your new one to see if you can input the miles? They usually have this facility as when the battery dies you lose all that info anyway so it's best to keep a record of it so you can put it back when you replace the battery.

there is a way to put your miles into the new computer. you'll have to go through the instuctions as I've forgotten how to do it

Thanks ive not looked at the Instruction book yet but thats the 1st thing on my list to do , I write everything down in my book anyways so if my battery or computer had a failure i would have a back up aswell

Thanks Crumpetman and Citybabe

I have two Cateye Strada Wireless computers. I just swapped them between the bikes, and they work equally well on both. That suggests that they all use the same transmit frequency. If I remember correctly, the back of the display unit should point at the pick-up on the front forks. That suggests that you would be unlikely to get a bogus reading from a nearby rider. I think the maximum range is 700mm.

I just put the bikes parallel and side by side and spun the front wheel of one. With the handlebars just overlapping, they do register a pulse on the next door bike. I guess if your indicated speed on the road suddenly doubles, your neighbouring rider is getting a bit friendly.
