and what a perfomance thank god I was at home or I would never have made it home.
First thing that happened the tyre lever when I started to slide it along took a strand off the tyre

Not sure if I need too worry too much about that. They are the original tyres on the defy2 kendrick i think.

Next I couldn't get the tyre to sit tidy with the new tub in

110 psi later the tyre peeled off and there was a rather loud bang.
I then had more success with the second tube and went to pop the back wheel back on and realised I had never take it off before.
You-tube to the rescue there. But at least now I will be better prepared for when it happens on the road

so next going by my demon bike skills above am I likely too be able to patch the old tube to take a 120 psi with my aldi patches

Before inflating make sure you push the valve into the tyre. This will prevent the tyre not sitting on the rim properly.

Always a good idea to practice at home, nothing like being miles from home in the dark and wet to wish you'd had a go earlier

use plastic tyre levers ,
a bulge like that is usually a classic sign of a twisted tube imo .

make youve the right sized tube and its positioned correctly , not twisted or proud of the rims .

never rush if your getting flustered stop take a break make a coffee speed comes with practice

if out on a run take time to cakm down and take stock of the situation and get things right again speed comes with practice

im going on about relaxing a bit here but ive seen people fix punctures and done it myself and and a lot of the time the mistakes are down to trying to rush things

cheers folks for the tips. 400bhp the tyres support 120 psi and for some reason I assumed it was a good idea to keep them well pumped up all the time. Should I not keep them that hard ?

Maybe 400bhp meant not to put them to 120 until you are sure the tyre is seated correctly?
I put 20-30 in then have a quick check over before fully inflating

Have you changed the tyre too or are you sticking with the original? If it is the original then make sure you check the tyre carefully for any objects which may be poking into the tube.

yea original tyres back on I did check inside. The second tube went on much smoother I just needed to push the valve into the tyre instead of pulling it down tight so the tyre couldn't site comfy
All is good
