The wife ordered a new Dawes Karacum, last week it got delivered on fri, where we then took it to th LBS for them to build it for us (wife didnt trust me) and picked it up last night (saturday). Today we had out 1st ride out. I havent rode a cycle for 4 years, the last time the wife rode a cycle was over 20 years ago !!. Wel,l she did very well we managed 10 miles, just plodding along part of the pennine trail that runs alongside the river Humber, we didnt break any records averaging 8mph, but it was a lovely day and the wife thoroughly enjoyed it. She never knew that there was such a trail so close to our house. She said she was just begining to feel tired as we arrived back home, but a nice tired as she put it. Were, hoping to do another one or two 10 miles before the week end and weather permitting, may try a flat 20 mile ride.

+1 the perfect traffic-free environment to get back into cycling. It's a lovely ride and you can keep extending the route as you get fitter.
