1st club ride today!

Went out with Mercian cycle club with their moderate pace group today.

Total of 40 miles with a cake stop + 7.8 each way to get to the meeting point so close enough to 55 miles this morning .

Only thing that i really noticed was i need better shorts as the bsic ones i have for commuting are fine but were getting uncomfy at the end.

Bit of neck /shoulder ache both the legs are fine

Bodes well for the sportive next weekend ........

Bit slower than i would ride imho but i went for the fun and to get used to group riding .they did 40 miles in 2.5 hours and i normally average over 18 , maybe 19 mph solo .

Must have been the other group , googled it and it does not look like where we were.

Was an big old house/estate 20 miles cycling from Rolleston on the back roads past sudbury , i was totally relying on the leaders it is not my stomping ground.

Nope nowhere near there. I could have read their shorts wrong but it was Mercia or Mercian. The writing went round the side of leg and it isn't ladylike to crane to read stranger's bottoms. There were only a few of them.
