Had my first "Moment" today

I had to take my car into the garage so i decided to put the bike in the boot and cycle home, but my back light could'nt of been attached properly as about 200 yrds from the garage it came loose and fell off i heard it hit the deck so i stopped quick smart and unlike the light i was properly attached and also hit the deck ... but why is it that as soon as you hit the floor your feet automatically unclip

Luckily for me there was'nt any spectators  although Jakes Mum nearly wet herself when i got home with a bleeding knee and elbow (no damge to the bike though)

And i also managed another 1st on the way home ... i climbed the full 700 ft without stopping  (good job i now have a week off work) to recover

I did that last week and was told not to get any blood on the sheets!

Yep, I had one last week, off road when I hit some sand. I couldn't go left and I'm not as practised with my right foot, though it was out by the time I hit the ground. Oh how my son howled with laughter ........................... grrrrr.

you kind of get used to those moments every time it happens it hurts less as you prepare your body for the fall, BUT you feel more of a prat every time because you should know better.

I came close to another the other day but I fell over and not the bike .. clipped one foot in push with the other (gather some momentum), lobbed it over the bike and hooked the hand rail on the side of the path as I did so with my foot ... bike went down the path ... I didn't

I'll class that as a Half Moment

Has everyone who has had clipless moments used toe clips before? I only ask as I have used toe clips for years and have never had a moment (yet ;)). Are clipless pedals that different to use (he asked in all innocence)?

The thing about clipless moments is they, generally, happen when you are stationary and so most of the time the thing get hurt the most is your pride (unless of course you dive unto the handle bars and crack a couple of ribs, but that is another story). Welcome to the club...
