1997 RX100 Front Mech with 34/50 Compact

Will an RX100 double front mech work with a modern 34/50 compact chainset?

The spec sheet states 14T difference, but as with all Shimano stuff there's a bit of leeway.

I want to use one with a new FSA Tempo 34/50
