I'm currently doing up a 1950's BSA New Hudson bike: Clicky .

What colour tyres would it take: would they be the white walled ones or plain black or other?

Thanks!

Hilldodger is the man to answer definitively, but I have a 1950 Royal Humber which has all black block tread tyres.

Here is a link to a 1955 BSA Catalog (including tyre specs), but unfortunately your model is not there for some reason.

I think the bike dates from 1953.
On another post, someone said they think the bike is the 1953 Regency Deluxe model of the bike, looking at that catalogue, if that's correct, I think the tyres would be the white-walled ones.

Those look like 26" rims so whitewalls would be the thing on a higher end bike like that. 28" whitewalls were never available back then (at least not to my knowledge).

Thanks. Yeah, they are 26 inch rims.
