I did my first 100 miler today, although I still work in KM as I grew up in South Africa. I felt good, and at around 70KM (about 44 miles) I came upon a large hill which nearly made me just turn around. But I'm glad I didn't now.

I got up at 5 AM, and after a bit of breakfast and some prep, I set off at 6 AM.

I didn't really factor in the large bright thing in the sky.

Anyway, it was hard, but I've been putting in some good miles lately, so didn't suffer nearly as much as the first time I did a 100 KM ride. I suspect a fair bit slower than some, but progress is key, I remember my first 50 KM ride and struggling to keep above 20 kph 3 years ago. I suspect I'm going to sleep well tonight !

Enjoy the weekend all.

Well done, I'm hoping to do my 1st 100 mile ride this summer.

Well done. I am planning my first ever (and only) 100 miler this year. If I do it in less than 10 hours I will be pleased.
