10 spd rings on 9spd crankset

Chain rings on other half's bike are getting pretty worn, it's a 9SPD Ultegra triple FD. Can I replace them with nice shiny 10Spd Ultegra rings? Guess my gut feel is that is should be fine, there can't be that much difference between them ?

I have 10speed compact chain wheel with 9 speed cassette with no problems.Not able to see why a triple should be any different.

Thx all, will go ahead and replace them (and chain/cassette) should feel like new bike when done :-)
