£100k worth bikes stolen - Fife

Folks just a heads up local bike shop gone done over at the weekend, huge amount stolen. Be aware of stupidly cheap offers for bikes etc.

Not to be flippant, but the value of Glenrothes has just slumped by 80%.

Please keep your eyes peeled for any Christmas bike bargains that look too good to be true. A bike shop in Glenrothes has had £100,000 worth of bikes, still boxed, stolen a couple of days ago. Makes include Cannondale, Specialized, Bianchi and Giant bikes, as well as a number of Cuda children's bikes, and were a mix of MTBs, road, hybrid and electric bikes.

Could be sold locally or on E_bay etc.

They won't be sold in Britain, they will be loaded into a container and sent to Russia or the FYR countries where most stolen bikes end up. I met a Serb guy once who started boasting about his pal in Novi Sad who makes a good living selling bikes stolen in Europe. He suddenly stopped when he saw my expression.

It just seems hard to imagine how it was done considering the amount taken, the planning and organising of vehicles and what to take .
