chain tool

Which chain tool would you recommend for splitting the chain?

Tried this on a friends dry chain it was not easy then even tougher on one of my own, used some mole(vice) grips after the plastic winder disintegrated and got the thing installed. Cheap but bought it as it had the opposing part to brace the plate on the far side from the winder. Question is...

Which one would you recommend that is not expensive and does that job that it should do
