Shimano flight deck system

Hi there,
I have a lovely tcr road bike which has sora ultegra (guess) levers. It says flight deck on them and I have seen several items on the internet which are flight deck related. I am a newbie so haven't a clue what this is and before I buy anything that I think I may need but really don't, I'd like some advice. Ideally I would love something to let me know what gear I am in as I find the change from grip shift - which tells you, to levers - which don't quite hard. I find I have no idea what gear I am In and as a result tend to run out of gears ... If that even makes sense to anyone but me. Thanks everyone

Flight deck is shimanos bike computer IMHO its rubbish. Your better of with a garmin.
