Dummy/Sleeping Hub query.

Good evening all, I have found a dummy hub or sleeping hub on Park Tools site and from US sellers. This looks like something I would find useful for cleaning and general chain/derailleur maintenance as it tensions the chain without the rear wheel in place and allows access to the inward side of the derailleur and chainstays. Does anyone else make such an item and can it be bought in the UK? I have included the link and I am assuming it is not yet available in the UK as it is a new item. Listed on SJS Cycles but not (yet?) available. Any homemade workaround appreciated too! Thanks Gez

Plenty around. Pedro's, BBB, Topeak, etc. If you have an older bike with steel dropouts, you could just push a large screwdriver through the "venting" holes above the dropout and that has the same effect.

One bolt, one wingnut, two washers, two bits of rubber and an empty spool from a roll of PTFE tape all from work and works an absolute treat. Gotta love YouTube! Gez
