I had some Cannondale ‘carbon’ winter clothing - thermal jacket and bibs - probably 15 or 20 years ago. They said the carbon was derived from coconut husks. I got the impression that the claimed benefits were more along the lines of having activated charcoal incorporated into the fabric (whiff reduction, etc), rather than the light-stiff-aerospace-bling of a carbon fibre composite. It was very nice comfortable warm gear, but I can’t say I particularly noticed the effect of the carbon.

Conductive carbon fibers absorb and dissipate electrical charges created by the body
On a related point, when I was 'doing my bit', standard issue shirts were 100% nylon. With me however, my natural static plus the shirt played hell with my two way radio, so the powers that were relented and issued me with polycotton replacements. :okay:
