"Well this is controversial" Not really, i have seen loads of articles like this written about carbon fibre
At nearly seventy one and not doing the long rides i used to do if my ten year old Giant Defy CF bike broke today i would probably just buy an alloy bike as the price of CF bikes has shot up.

Have they?

You can get a Boardman CF for £1200 from Tredz (with a number of alu frame bikes with similar component levels costing significantly more), and several others for under £2000.

The current nearest equivalent of the Cube Attain GTC I paid £2100 for in August 2021 is now £1499 (105 11 speed mechanical) from Sigma Sports, with a 105 Di2 version for £2000. Both CF.

Don't forget Filton and Chester in the UK.
Indeed so.

I was being lazy and using "built" in the sense of final assembly. Manufacturing does, of course, take place in many locations, most notably the wings at Broughton.

Oh, and I was only joking about Toulouse-assembled examples being inferior.
